Brianna Rowe Testimony

This summer I was very blessed to be able to spend three weeks in Mexico with A.W. and Kathy Jones. They are both wonderful people who are on fire for the Lord and are being used in many ways by God to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ in Mexico .

We did a lot of traveling and ministering in different areas of Mexico , but I just want to list a few of the things that really stuck out to me.

The second day I was in Mexico we traveled to Tuxpan. We had the opportunity to minister at a church there. There was a time of worship and then A.W. preached. After he was done people came up for prayer. Four or five people got saved and two people got healed. One woman in particular had been experiencing pain in her back and spine. She said that it hurt her to sit and stand. She was prayed for and was immediately healed. It was a really exciting time for her and for everyone else! God is so awesome!

Many times while we would be driving to and from places we would see people begging or selling things on the streets to earn money. A.W. and Kathy would stop and give them a bag of rice or beans. One day when we were driving a little boy, around the age of ten, asked if he could wash the windshield. A.W. said yes and he went right to work. After he was done A.W. gave him a bag of rice. When we were driving away the little boy let out an excited squeal. It was really touching to see how excited he got over a bag of rice. It also showed me how great the poverty is, an example being that a ten year old boy had to work to earn money for food.

While I was in Mexico we had the opportunity to visit an orphanage twice. It is a Christian run orphanage with about twenty kids. The first time we went we gave each child a stuffed animal. At first they all wanted to exchange their animal, but then they decided they loved the one they had and wouldn't put it down. They all loved getting their picture taken and then looking on the camera screen to see what it looked like. The second time we went we brought food and some other items for all of them. This time we were given a tour of the building and we realized how small it really was. There was only one room with beds and one bathroom for almost thirty people. They really have a lot they need, but they are all still very cheerful. The couple who runs the orphanage seems to love the Lord and are teaching the kids a lot about Jesus. I really enjoyed going to the children's home and it really put a burden on my heart for them all.

A.W. and Kathy gave me a tour of downtown Guadalajara one day. We went inside two cathedrals. The cathedrals are very elegant and everything is covered in gold. There are also many pictures and statues of Mary but not as many of Jesus. What really hit me though was that they spent so much money decorating the cathedrals when there are people right outside the church doors begging. The poverty is so large.

Three days while I was in Mexico I got to help out at a VBS at another church. There were probably about one hundred kids at the VBS. I helped out with the five and six year olds. Everyone at the church was very energetic and enthusiastic about what they were learning. I am very glad I had the opportunity to go there and help out.

Every Saturday morning the church A.W. and Kathy go to have a feeding program for kids. The time is started off with worship and prayer and then the kids break up into their age groups for a Bible lesson. I was able to teach the eight to ten year olds one morning. After their Bible lesson they are given cereal and a banana. A lot of kids come and are greatly blessed.

One weekend we traveled to Michoacán and stayed with another missionary named Terry David. While there we went to three different churches and A.W. got to speak at all of them. I taught Sunday school at Terry's church. There were around fifteen kids in the class. I talked about the special gifts God has given each one of us and how we need to use them to bring Him glory and to tell others about Christ. It was a lot of fun!

Every Tuesday night from around 7-8:30 PM there is prayer time at San Augustine led by A.W. It is always a very good time of worship and prayer. God always shows up! Every Friday night at San Augustine there is a service where Pastor Jorge speaks.

I also had the opportunity to spend two days with the team from FIRE School of Ministry. They are an awesome group of people. We went to two prayer services. One at a drug rehab/church and the other at Sion. They were both awesome times of worship, praise, healing, ministry, and prayer. I was blessed and I know everyone else who went was blessed!

My time in Mexico was an awesome experience. I learned a lot from A.W. and Kathy and from the Lord. God is doing amazing things in Mexico and is using A.W. and Kathy to do big things as well.
