Peru 2008
August 25 of this year I went with other FIRE missionaries to Peru to be with Ron Smith of FIRE Peru. We went to various locations to see the feeding programs and to pray and encourage pastors. We also ministered in a church plant in Lima and an outreach and ministry in a church in Chincha Baja, which is near the epicenter of the great earthquake they had in August 2007.

Guinea Pig anyone? They actually raise them for food like we raise chickens.
This is a school and church in an impoverished area of Lima. We prayed for and encouraged the pastor during this visit. He also feeds over 200 children a week.

walking down the street we saw these chessboards built into the tables. You can come by here almost anytime of the day to watch or play a game yourself.
These next few pictures are of some of the poorest areas I've ever seen. They say that some 350,000 people live in this area.
