November 2006 we went to a  Purepecha Indian village in the mountains of Michoacán (meetch-o-ah- cahn). We had a great time of fellowship with the few believers in this village.  They have suffered tremendous persecution in the past.  Their church was burnt down and a team that was visiting was stoned.  They are such a wonderful group of people but there is some fear in their hearts about evangelizing their neighbors again. Out of 14 villages there are only 2 that have been reached with the gospel. Keep these people in your prayers.

Praying before service. The man on the front row in the dark shirt is Pastor Benjamin. He has a tremendous testimony of how Jesus appeared to him in the Los Angeles jail and called him to go back to his people and start a work.

The men ministered in the church and the women ministered to the children. Aren't they precious?

Precious? Yes, but life is hard in the village as they are very poor.

Psalms 37:25-26
 I was young and now I am old,
yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken
or their children begging bread.
 They are always generous and lend freely;
their children will be blessed.
NIV

Luke 14:21-22
'Go out at once into the streets and lanes of the city and bring in here the poor and crippled and blind and lame.'
NASB

Luke 14:23
Go out into the highways and along the hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.
NASB
